• The Radiologic Technologist performs fluoroscopic imaging during interventional pain management procedures in a AAAHC accredited ambulatory surgery center. This role ensures patient and staff safety, compliance with Connecticut Department of Public Health (DPH) standards, and supports physicians in achieving optimal procedural outcomes. The Radiologic Technologist reports to the Director of Nursing.
• Operate C-arm fluoroscopy equipment during pain management procedures (e.g., epidural injections, facet blocks, RFAs).
• Position patients safely and obtain diagnostic-quality images with minimal radiation exposure.
• Perform daily equipment checks and maintain accurate fluoroscopy logs per DPH requirements.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and anesthesia staff to ensure procedural efficiency and sterile technique.
• Adhere to ALARA principles and radiation protection protocols.
• Assist with room setup, turnover, and inventory of imaging-related supplies.
• Report equipment issues promptly and participate in radiation safety audits.
• Maintain ARRT certification and Connecticut DPH radiographer license in good standing.
• Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
• Current ARRT (R) certification required.
• Valid Connecticut Radiographer License (DPH) required.
• Minimum 1 year of fluoroscopy experience preferred (pain management or interventional experience ideal).
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to thrive in a fast-paced outpatient setting.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods, assist in patient positioning, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds. Exposure to radiation and bodily fluids requires adherence to OSHA and infection control standards.
• Must comply with Connecticut DPH regulations for Radiologic Technologists (Conn. Gen. Stat. §19a-14 & §20-74bb), and with applicable AAACH, CMS, AORN, and AAMI standards for ambulatory surgery centers.
